Temporary work while unemployed in California?
I accepted a temporary job working for minimum wage, and I reported it to the EDD. After I reported it, they sent a reduced check with no claim form to get another check. Could I be right? Is the government actually punishing me for working? Minimum wage is below what I was getting paid on unemployment, and I expected unemployment to simply make up the difference, but it looks like they're going to take it ALL away from me. I'm obviously still looking for another job, but I just COULD NOT STAND not working, so took the minimum wage job even though I would get more money if I just stayed in bed all day. It's absolutely impossible to get through to the EDD, so can someone please enlighten me as to how this works? Have I lost my unemployment? Can I get it back at the same amount when this temporary job ends? When is Obama going to be impeached so we can go back to living in a free country where people who work hard are rewarded instead of punished?
