So I was laid off from work due to lack of work in January. Ever since then I have been receiving unemployment benefits and applying to I worked and I was wondering, how long do I have to wait before I can just ask for my severance? I want to do this because I feel that my boss isn't planning on calling me back to work ever seeing as how she told me that I would be back to work in February and it never happened. Thank you for your time in helping me!

Severance is at the discretion of the employer, there is no law that says you get it and unless you had it in writing the chances are slim you will see it
