Is it fair to get laid off..?
So, is it fair to be working at a place for 19 years and never miss a day of work and doing always your best. And one day you just get laid off...but there are plenty more who are not the best workers...then you find out that more people get laid that are the same race as you....What should this person do?...should they sue the company? They didnt even get anything for working there so long just your un used vacation

My husband and I are going to need to take out a loan for a car in August 2010 and was wondering how being laid of from Sept 2009 until May 2010 will affect this. Ive been laid off for a month, got called back sort of.?
Ok. Apparently HR mysterious lost my phone number of 2 yrs and tried calling my old number, well anyway monday i got a certified letter from my work saying they were calling me back for monday. and that i have 3 days to respond or ill be terminated.well my job is 50 miles away and collecting unemployment doesnt leave much money to save up for just in case i get called back. Had i known before monday i couldve may some accomodation. so i sent emails and tried calling HR with no response, im pretty sure im fired. can i get unemployment??????
I was laid off from my job a few weeks ago and they owe me 2 paychecks. WTD?
They still owe me 2 paychecks and all my vacation time, unused sick and oersonal time as well. Payroll said they mail them out express envelopes and still have not got them. Theres no way 2 express envelopes get lost in back to back weeks. I knew something fishy was going on. I called payroll to complain and they told me that they could do anything about it but to wait. I asked them to put a stop payment on them and they said it was against company policy to do so. I've never heard of that before. Its been about 3 weeks now since my layoff and still have no money from them and I dont get my first unemployment check untill next week. Now Im wondering what should I do now, do I need to take legal action and if so how do I begin that process? Thanks for any help
