Should i give up my job search in my field, and start over as entry level in something else?

Question: Should i give up my job search in my field, and start over as entry level in something else?

(Posted by: M on 2010-02-14 16:01:03)

My career seems to have fallen apart after 13 years. I quit my last job out of frustration 3 years ago, and have not been able to find another job in 3 years!! Not a single interview. I guess i'm blacklisted or something. Yes, the economy sucks, but it didn't suck in 2007 and half of 2008 and i was not able to find a job then either. Now, as more and more time passes, it seems less likely anyone would hire me. I have such a huge gaping hole in my resume. Is burger flipping in my future?

It would have helped if you had mentioned what career that is. If you did it for 13 years that would be a HUGE advantage because you got a lot of experience. I have noticed that a lot of employers specifically ask for experience when posting positions. Then again, it also depends on the type of career that was. I think you should re-asses your strategy and goals. There are many websites that give helpful tips on how to do that.
