Question: Can i get a tax credit/deduction for 8 weeks online study at a university for skill that enhance my job search?

The university do not issue 1098T for non- degree online certificates, amount i paid was $ 1600 I was given a certificate after passing the test in May 2009

If the university was a "qualified educational institution " then yes, you can take the Lifetime Learning Credit. Generally, a "qualified educational institution " is one that is qualified to receive federal student aid.

If the education was to enhance the skills for the job you at one time had that you are now searching for a new one could be included in misc deductions if you itemize, if you don't it won't matter
