I dont understand how they could fire you for a simple mistake. I mean, the button you pressed is pretty misleading. Anyone would think that thats what the button is for. You have only been there for 2 weeks and only had 5 shifts in those two weeks so they cant expect you to know their systems straight away. If you were to push this button all the time or if you knew the people whos bill it was and just thought you would give them a free meal then yeah you should be fired. But i dont think thats the case In terms of whether you are fired or not im not sure but if they start to go down that track then i would plead your case using those grounds. Sure it was an expensive mistake but thats how you learn and im positive you wont press that button again for a long time. |
