I got a job offer, but they claim they would hire me when someone quit or got fired. How long can that take?
I went to McAllister's Deli after my cousin who was a former employee there referred me to the manager and I put in an application two weeks before my cousin referred me. Anyway, my cousin tells me to go up to McAllister's and talk to the manager about the job. So I talk to the manager and he says that there is a full staff and that they cannot hire anyone at this time, but he took my application and put it in the front stack and he said he would give me a call when someone left or something like that. But what I want to know is exactly how long would it take for me to get hired? Mainly because I really need this job.

I have already applied for benefits in my home state of Indiana where my permanent residence is . I am in the process of moving back and most of my previous work had been there and this was OK'ed as I had made a phone call inquiring. I had just recently moved out to Las Vegas with a job offer serving at a restaurant. Before moving I had a full time job since 2008 until June of this year in Indiana. I was hired 7 20 and I was fired 8 23. Was given a verbal warning a few weeks ago when I was told my uniform was not 'spec' and told to go home, although, during my orientation they had told me that the same uniform I had was within guidelines. Then a week ago I was laid off after finishing my shift. I inquired into why I was fired as this had never happened before and was told it was just a probationary period and that they had noticed I was just not what they were looking for. When I started this job I found out that they had also hired 20 other new applicants and were basically weeding through to pick the best 5 10 to keep. A friend had told me happens a lot at this place.My question is am I eligible for unemployment benefits? When asked I indicated work performance as the reason for termination but stated my case but am wondering what is the chance that I will receive unemployment.Thank you for your time.

I am was hired to do a specific task which has several roles...now after 4 years they want me to take on an additional position in another dept. It requires additional training, but no pay increase. The turn over rate in this department is huge and frankly I don't want to do it.

I work 3rd shift and they wrote me in to fill someone else's spot for a day I initially didn't have to work. It was only 4 hours, and I was gladly willing to do it. Next thing you know, I wake up to a clock showing me I had slept through the hours I was supposed to be working. I am new to third shift, and the last night I worked they were giving me subliminal warnings about night shift performance and the turnover rate. Aside from being new and not the best at it, this accidental oversleeping was my first offense. It goes without saying that I'd really rather not be terminated from a minimum wage job.Also, assuming I was fired, do I have to list the company on future resumes? Usually there's room for 3 past jobs, and they tell you to start with the most recent. However, if I get fired and have only been there for less than a month, could I not list it as my most recent job?
