Jobless and can't find a job?

Question: Jobless and can't find a job?

(Posted by: chicktenders101 on 2010-02-05 18:35:53)

I'm 57 years old and was recently laid off from my previous job as a tax accountant at a big firm. I was making quite a good salary but was released after the department was trying to clean out. Now I'm left without a job and worried. My severance pay is running out and I don't want to get into the retirement age with no money. I have a degree in math and finance. Any jobs? P.S. I'm using my son's accountant so this isn't the usual "Chicken Tenders "

Did you sign up for unemployment? If not, WHY? It seems that you are eligible. Go on your state's website and find out. Once you do, the doors will open up with programs to help you get back in the workforce. They will put you in touch with job searching venues in your area. That way, you can collect and make job searching your full-time job. You will get instruction on how to find jobs. Did you know that 85% of jobs out there are unadvertised? Good luck.

If you have a degree - or any extra qualification - then you'll already be in front of of the masses when it comes to searching for professions. My mate has a degree and he wasn't sure what direction to go with it, but he discovered some good instruction on the website in the resource box below which aided him to settle that he wanted to be a lab assistant. There is lots of assistance on the website regarding extra professions.
