Question: Why is it so hard to find a job on campus?

I applied to like 13 jobs this school year(some being work study) and I only was able to land 2 maybe 3 interviews. how can I get experience if I don't even get a chance it pisses me off when I follow up most of the time they say "we'll call if were interested " yeah i'll keep you mind stupid bit**

First, you are one applicant in a sea of many. For my current job, I know that we have received over 500 applications for my replacement!! Second; You should feel lucky that you have an interview! Third: I'm guessing that you need to work on your interview skills. Sure maybe they are at least acceptable- you dress well and don't fidget, have a good handshake and make eye contact, but there is more to it than that. -- > I recommend "Job Interviews for Dummies " It is an excellent book!!! Practice how you will answer the most common interview questions, have a couple minute memorized commercial and PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE! you really only get once chance- so make a good first impression! If you know you don't have enough experience in a certain area, then explain that you recognize that and THEN explain what qualities you have that will 'fix' that or help you learn it. Good luck!

Very simple, there are a very limited number of jobs and a huge amount of applicants.
